The short answer: fortress by day, an open evening during the festival
On an ordinary visit, pair Jinju Fortress, Chokseoknu Pavilion and Jinju National Museum as one heritage block, then treat the river and market as another. The official festival site lists the 2026 Namgang Lantern Festival for October 3–18 at Jinju Fortress and along the Namgang River. Leave the evening schedule flexible during the festival.

The National Museum is inside Jinju Fortress. Its official visitor page lists non-resident adult fortress admission at KRW 2,000, youth/military at KRW 1,000 and elementary-school children at KRW 600, with exemptions listed separately. Recheck eligibility and fees on the visit date.
