For an autumn visit, let the Garden of Morning Calm be the main event. Add Nami Island only when the exact train and two taxi transfers fit the same day. This version avoids an outdated city-tour timetable: it uses a reserved ITX-Cheongchun train to Cheongpyeong, a taxi to the garden, then a taxi to the Nami wharf.

Current admission and hours

Korea Tourism Organization lists the garden at 08:30–19:00, with winter hours of 10:00–21:00 from December to March. Current listed admission is KRW 11,000 adult, 8,500 teenager and 7,500 child. It is open year-round. Check the venue notice before travel because seasonal events can change entry and lighting times. Parking is available, but this car-free route makes no parking-price claim.

Garden-only half day

Reserve an ITX-Cheongchun train that actually stops at Cheongpyeong; not every service does. A workable target is to reach Cheongpyeong around 09:00–09:30, take a taxi for the final 15–20 minute road segment, spend at least two hours in the garden, and call a return taxi before leaving the gate. In autumn, walk the lower formal gardens first and use the remaining time for the woodland slopes. Do not promise peak colour from a calendar; check recent official images and weather.

A two-stop day without a stale shuttle table

Use this only after the two taxi legs and return train are visible in the live route search:

  • 08:00–09:30: reserved ITX from Yongsan or Cheongnyangni to Cheongpyeong, followed by taxi to the garden.
  • 09:45–12:15: Garden of Morning Calm.
  • 12:15–13:15: taxi toward the Nami wharf and lunch nearby. Road time varies; keep the full hour.
  • 13:15–17:00: ferry and Nami Island. Current adult admission is KRW 19,000 including round-trip ferry.
  • 17:00–18:00: ferry back, local transfer to Gapyeong Station.
  • After 18:00: use the reserved return train or the exact live alternative.

Nami’s regular operator schedule lists first ferry 08:00 and last ferry 21:00, with seasonal additions. That late ferry is not permission to miss the final train or taxi. If either transfer cannot be confirmed, keep the garden as a half day.

What completed travelers add

One completed late-November group trip linked the garden, Nami and rail bike but described the day as packed and cold. A completed independent winter visitor took ITX to Cheongpyeong and a 15–20 minute taxi, finding the half day straightforward. A 2026 first-time visitor rated the garden and rail park above Nami. Those experiences support the garden-first rule and the taxi fallback; they do not establish a universal foliage date.

Before paying

  • Confirm the train stops at Cheongpyeong and reserve the return.
  • Check the venue’s dated hours and any seasonal event notice.
  • Save the Korean name 아침고요수목원 and full address for the taxi.
  • Treat Nami as optional if local transfers or weather consume the margin.
