The official pages for places 1–7 do not all show a current price, so check the menu board rather than carrying over the old price range from the earlier guide.
Noodles, soup and samgyetang in the Myeongdong area
Myeongdong Kyoja’s tourism listing names kalguksu, mandu and bibim-guksu and gives hours of 10:30–21:00. One older visit record says the shop did not take reservations and that arriving before 11:30 in the morning avoided a queue, but that is one visit rather than a guaranteed wait time. Use the current listing and the day-of line as the final decision.
Hadongkwan’s own site presents the Myeongdong main branch as a gomtang restaurant open 07:00–16:00. It lists Sunday, Seollal and Chuseok closures, which makes late-afternoon or holiday planning unsuitable without a replacement.
Goryeo Samgyetang is in Seosomun-ro 11-gil in the City Hall and Seosomun area. The tourism listing presents samgyetang with ogolgye-tang and abalone samgyetang, with hours of 10:30–21:00 and closures on Seollal and Chuseok. Use the address to decide whether it fits a Myeongdong day rather than assuming it is beside Myeongdong Station.
Cold noodles, bunsik and two cutlet addresses
Myeongdong Hamheung Myeonok is listed by Seoul tourism at Myeongdong 10-gil, with Hamheung-style naengmyeon at KRW 14,000, hours of 11:00–20:00 and closures on Sundays, Seollal and Chuseok. The page was revised on September 17, 2026, so check for another change before a September visit.
Myeonghwadang Myeongdong Branch is listed at Myeongdong 4-gil, open 09:00–22:30 and serving gimbap, tteokbokki, bibim-jjolmyeon, mandu and udon. The listing also shows Seollal and Chuseok closures. It fits a group that wants to share several small dishes, but its page does not supply a current price in the cited evidence.
Wonjo Namsan Wang Donkatsu Myeongdong is listed at Myeongdong 7-gil 21, open 11:00–22:00 year-round, with wang donkatsu as the representative dish and a current menu listing of KRW 14,000. Dami Donkatsu is listed at Toegye-ro 24-gil 6-1. Its current listing gives handmade donkatsu at KRW 10,000, donkatsu with skewer udon at KRW 13,500 and donkatsu with cold buckwheat noodles at KRW 14,000, with weekday, Saturday and Sunday conditions as shown above. Check the address in a current map result before planning the walk.
When to widen the plan to Namdaemun Market
Namdaemun Market and Myeongdong are connected in Seoul’s tourism guidance as a shopping and food area, but the market stalls do not share the operating system or price board of the Myeongdong restaurants. The three Namdaemun entries in this guide come from a Seoul city article published February 28, 2023 and revised March 24, 2023, so use them as menu leads only.
The article names clam and chicken kalguksu at Namdaemun Son Kalguksu Naengmyeon, braised hairtail at Jungang Galchi Sikdang and vegetable, honey-seed and red-bean hotteok at Namdaemun Myeongmul Hotteok. It does not establish current hours, current prices or whether every named stall is operating on the day you go.
Namdaemun guidance describes the kalguksu and hairtail alleys as practical food stops and says cash can be useful at small stalls, while card acceptance varies. Treat that as a planning suggestion, not a rule for every vendor. If you plan to shop for heavy items, putting that part later in the route can make the food stop easier.
A simple time-of-day plan
Myeongdong can be busier on weekend afternoons, so morning or weekday timing is a reasonable area-level suggestion; it does not guarantee a short line at a particular restaurant. That Myeongdong Kyoja arrival record remains a single visit condition.
Namdaemun stalls may close earlier than a dinner restaurant, so put a market meal or hotteok earlier in the day and keep Myeongdong Hamheung Myeonok, Myeonghwadang and Hadongkwan’s closure days in mind. Confirm each address, menu, price and opening notice on the day.
