Choose the campaign around your hotel address

For a stay in Hakata or Tenjin, start with the registered offers for the Kyushu recovery discount, not Go! Fukuoka. Go! Fukuoka excludes Fukuoka City and Kitakyushu City; the recovery programme has different rules. If you already booked before 24 September 2026, keep that booking out of your expected recovery-discount savings.

The distinction is between a city and its prefecture. A hotel described as being in “Fukuoka” may be in Fukuoka City or elsewhere in Fukuoka Prefecture. Use its full municipal address, then compare the actual eligible offer.

This comparison was checked on 1 October 2026. An OTA taking part in one programme is not evidence that it sells the other.

Read the recovery cap as a trip limit

The recovery programme’s cap is per person per trip, including when accommodation spans several nights. Accommodation alone, or a transport-and-accommodation product for one night, has a ¥20,000 cap. A transport-inclusive product of at least two nights has a ¥30,000 cap. A qualifying multi-prefecture overnight product has a ¥35,000 cap; one including Kumamoto or Kagoshima accommodation can receive the 60% rate. An itinerary containing accommodation outside Kyushu is excluded.

Buying a train ticket separately does not by itself turn a hotel booking into a transport-inclusive package. Choose the product category before doing the arithmetic.

A comparison of the recovery trip cap and Go Fukuoka nightly allowance

The table below is an editorial calculation from the published rules, checked on 1 October 2026. It uses illustrative eligible costs, not hotel quotes, for one eligible traveler. It assumes accommodation-only recovery products and available programme funding. The Go! Fukuoka column is a separate nominal comparison, not a stacking calculation.

Read the recovery cap as a trip limit
Illustrative stay costRecovery reduction: lower of 50% or ¥20,000Go! Fukuoka nominal allowance
¥12,000 for one night¥6,000¥3,000 equivalent
¥24,000 for two nights¥12,000¥6,000 equivalent
¥60,000 for three nights¥20,000, rather than ¥30,000¥9,000 equivalent

For example, the last row leaves ¥40,000 before other non-covered charges under the recovery assumption. An extra night does not reset its ¥20,000 accommodation-only cap.

Start on the recovery programme’s own booking list

The 28 September 2026 notice suspended direct hotel applications outside Kitakyushu City. On 1 October the programme listed Rakuten Travel sales from 10:00 and Ikyu/Yahoo Travel from 12:00. These are opening notices, not proof that your dates still have stock.

Use the official OTA section to reach the participating seller. The displayed list checked on 1 October did not include Agoda or Klook. An Agoda Go! Fukuoka offer should not be read as a recovery-discount booking.

Where registered hotels still accept the direct route, ask for the programme when booking. The hotel confirms the representative’s identity; the representative completes the subsidy application form and signs the usage certificate. Overseas visitors are eligible, while business travel, day use and trips without an overnight stay are excluded.

Before cancelling an existing reservation, compare its cancellation charge with the confirmed saving on the replacement offer. A new eligible booking is a different transaction, not a retrospective refund.

A city hotel can still be the better base

For a city-focused itinerary, compare the regular hotel total rather than moving solely for Go! Fukuoka. CROSS Life Hakata Yanagibashi’s address is in Fukuoka City, so it is outside that scheme’s area. On 1 October 2026, its Trip.com English page showed a Comfort Twin Room with Sofa Bed at US$108 total, labelled including taxes and fees, for 8–9 October, two adults and one room. Breakfast was extra and that offer allowed cancellation before 18:00 on 6 October. Property-payable extras may remain.

Compare CROSS Life’s rooms and cancellation terms for your dates. This is a regular city-hotel link, not a Go! Fukuoka offer or a guarantee of recovery-discount participation. Skip it if your priority is an eligible Go! Fukuoka stay outside the city.

The individual guest reviews put “convenient” in context: Sippapeg, a Thai couple reviewer posting on 6 August 2026, liked the nearby bus stop. GIVNAP, a Thai family reviewer posting on 6 June, found the centre relatively far away. A Hong Kong friends-group review posted on 21 April described buses in front of the hotel despite its distance from central Hakata and Tenjin. These are posting dates and individual impressions, not guaranteed walking times.

What can change before you book

Programme budgets, participating inventory and seller opening dates can change before the advertised stay period ends. Check the recovery programme and Go! Fukuoka prefectural notice, then the selected room’s final discount and cancellation terms. Do not budget for both subsidies together without explicit terms permitting it.

If the hotel is in Hakata or Tenjin, budget without Go! Fukuoka. If it is elsewhere in the prefecture, compare its eligible OTA offer with a regular city stay including your extra transport cost. Keep bookings made before 24 September out of the recovery calculation.
