“Sleeps three” does not mean that three guests receive the same kind of bed. The Triple Room at The Royal Park Hotel Fukuoka has three permanent 110 cm beds. At HOTEL FORZA HAKATAEKI CHIKUSHI-GUCHI II, the Family Room uses two standard beds and one 100 cm sofa bed when three adults stay.
Choose Royal Park first if all three guests want equivalent beds. Keep Forza in the comparison if one guest accepts the sofa bed and a separate bath, toilet and washbasin matter more.
Check the third bed before the “sleeps three” label
Put the two rooms side by side and the trade-off becomes clear.
| What to check | Royal Park Triple Room | Forza Family Room |
|---|---|---|
| Beds for three adults | Three permanent 110 × 195 cm beds | Two 140 cm beds plus one 100 cm sofa bed |
| Room area | 33.9㎡ | 27.0㎡ |
| Third sleeping place | Same specification as the other two | Sofa bed |
| Bathroom information | Bathtub with a washing area | Separate bath, toilet and washbasin |
Royal Park’s 100 × 185 cm extra bed is for a fourth guest. Three adults booking the Triple Room are not putting the third person on that extra bed.
The name “Family Room” does not reveal Forza’s third bed. The official room page says that a sofa bed is added to two double beds for three adults and lists one 100 cm sofa bed among the room’s equipment.

The measurable gap is 6.9㎡ and 10 cm
Royal Park lists 6.9㎡ more floor area, 25.6% more than Forza’s 27.0㎡. Divided among three guests, the stated area is 11.3㎡ per person against 9.0㎡. The third bed is 10 cm wider.
Those figures divide the total room area. They do not measure the floor left after furniture, and they cannot show exactly where three suitcases will open.
Guest reports do not point in only one direction. Rie, a Japanese traveler who stayed one night in May 2026, booked a Hollywood Twin for three, not the Triple Room. That 24.7㎡ room officially uses two permanent 110 × 195 cm beds and one 100 × 185 cm extra bed. Rie liked having three single sleeping places rather than a sofa bed, but still described the room as a little cramped. TsungYing Pien, who stayed in the 33.9㎡ Triple Room in April 2026, found it larger than expected and could fully open two large suitcases.
The different room types and their 9.2㎡ area gap explain the contrast more directly. Luggage size, bag count and expectations may add further variation. Use the official room specification alongside your own baggage count instead of treating either review or a wide-angle photo as a measurement.
At Forza, minimino stayed in the larger room with two double beds and one sofa bed as a family of five in December 2023. They found it a tight squeeze with little room for luggage. That is not the same occupancy as three adults, but it is a useful warning that a third sleeping place does not automatically create space for suitcases.

Keep Forza if the morning routine matters more
On beds alone, Royal Park is the simpler choice: each person receives a permanent bed measuring 110 cm wide and 195 cm long.
Forza gives the third guest a 100 cm sofa bed, but separates the bath, toilet and washbasin. If all three guests need to get ready at a similar time, one person can use the bath while others use the toilet or washbasin. That layout may matter more than the 10 cm difference in the third bed.
Decide who will take the sofa bed before booking. If you confirm only the maximum occupancy, one person discovers on arrival that their sleeping place is different.
Match the final total, not the first room price
Treat the bed and bathroom comparison separately from price. Do not infer that either hotel is cheaper, and do not treat the headline rates as comparable when the exact room, stay dates, occupancy, meal plan, cancellation deadline, taxes or service charges differ.
Hold the dates, one-room occupancy, three adults, meal plan and free-cancellation deadline constant, then compare the final amount including taxes and service charges. Forza’s official booking screen finds “Family Room for three guests” when three adults are entered, but its price column is labelled as a one-room or one-person, one-night rate. The first number in the list is not automatically the full-stay total for three people.
Fukuoka City’s accommodation tax is charged per person per night, not per room. It is ¥200 when the room-only charge is under ¥20,000 per person per night and ¥500 when it is ¥20,000 or more; meals and consumption tax are excluded from the amount used for that threshold.
For three adults staying two nights in the same tax band, that comes to ¥1,200 or ¥3,000. Check whether the booking total already includes it or whether it is due at the property.
You can reset the dates and occupancy to one room and three adults on Trip.com’s Hakata Station hotel list. This is an area list, not a guarantee that either exact room is available. Open the candidate and confirm the hotel branch, the exact room name, the third-bed type, the final total and the cancellation deadline.
Both hotels provide official room information in English. Royal Park also offers a Traditional Chinese switch, and Forza provides a Traditional Chinese room page. A language menu does not guarantee that every checkout condition is translated.
Start with Royal Park’s Triple Room when equal beds matter most. Choose Forza’s Family Room for the final-price comparison when one guest accepts a sofa bed and the separated bathroom layout would make the morning easier for all three.
For the rest of the stay, use the Fukuoka Airport to Hakata and Tenjin guide, decide where three bags go with the Hakata Station luggage guide, and compare a different group problem in the Fukuoka family-of-four room guide.
