Make the aquarium the main outing

You can plan Marine World Uminonakamichi and Uminonakamichi Seaside Park for the same day with children, provided the park visit stays selective. Try an aquarium morning, lunch and a proper break, then one park activity if everyone still wants to continue. This is an editorial plan, not an official touring time.

Choose the playground, Animal Forest or flowers as the park goal rather than trying to cover every area. If your child needs a nap or the weather makes an outdoor afternoon unappealing, finish after the aquarium.

Check both calendars before booking

As checked in September 2026, the park’s regular March–October hours are 9:30–17:30, with entry closing one hour before the park does. Animal Forest closes 30 minutes before the park. Marine World’s usual hours are also 9:30–17:30, but winter and night-opening dates differ.

The park has Tuesday closures during designated periods, including September; a Tuesday public holiday moves that closure to the following weekday. An open aquarium does not mean an open park. Use the park calendar for your date before buying a combination ticket.

Pick the show you want from the aquarium’s dated schedule, then fit the exhibits around it. There is already a significant future exception: dolphin and sea lion shows are scheduled to stop from 12 January to 9 April 2027 for show-pool repairs, including contingency days. Do not build a winter trip around those shows during that period.

Separate the children’s tickets from the adults’ decision

The park admits junior-high-school children and younger free. Marine World charges JPY 1,200 for elementary and junior-high pupils and JPY 700 for children aged three through preschool. These are different admission rules.

For adults who will visit both, the official aquarium-and-park combination costs JPY 2,690 and is sold only through Asoview, for high-school age and above. Separate regular adult admissions total JPY 2,950, a difference of JPY 260. Paid park extras such as bicycle hire are a separate expense.

If only the aquarium is firm, Klook’s Marine World Admission Ticket is an alternative to compare. It is valid on the selected date, excludes transport and meals, and does not provide fast entry. Read the cancellation terms for the selected booking before paying. You need an internet-connected phone to display the voucher; let venue staff operate its activation.

Travel via Kashii and leave room to change your mind

From Hakata, take the JR Kagoshima Main Line to Kashii, then change to a JR Kashii Line train towards Saitozaki and get off at Uminonakamichi (海ノ中道駅). The park operator identifies this station as convenient for Marine World and Wonder World, with the park’s Uminonakamichi Station Gate immediately beside the station. Save the station name and your return connection before setting off.

Stroller loans can help, but neither venue’s limited supply should be the basis of your plan. Marine World lends them free with a refundable JPY 500 deposit. The park lends them free at its gates, first come, first served, with no reservations; its listed models have infant age guidance, so do not assume they suit an older child.

If a stroller is essential, bring your own. Leave the afternoon flexible and carry cash if you intend to buy park admission at its gate, where admission payments are cash only.
