Autumn picking in Korea is an event-by-event activity, not a fixed list of farms. Fruit, quantity, price and even whether visitors enter the orchard depend on the dated program. Start with a current booking page, then check transport, clothing and what the fee lets you take home.

A current 2026 example: Goesan Seoul Farm

Seoul City published a Goesan Seoul Farm apple-harvest program on October 13, 2026. The linked public reservation page lists a family program for October 31–November 1, an application window of October 19–21, a reviewed-selection method, capacity of 20 people and a paid fee described in the detail notice. This is a specific overnight program in Goesan, not proof that any orchard near Seoul accepts walk-ins.

Open the reservation page before acting: applications can close, selection is not guaranteed, and the program date may pass. After it closes, use the same Seoul Farm and Seoul public-reservation channels to find the next dated harvest rather than reusing this link as evergreen availability.

Five questions to ask before paying

  1. Is this a farm visit, an orchard-picking session or a packaged overnight program?
  2. Which fruit and variety are planned for the exact date?
  3. How much can each participant pick or take home?
  4. What happens if weather or ripeness changes the activity?
  5. Are transport, meals, tools and insurance included?

Do not infer pear, persimmon, chestnut or sweet-potato availability from a general autumn calendar. The operator’s dated notice decides.

What completed orchard trips reveal

A completed Yesan apple-picking day arrived without a reservation, but that older farm experience cannot establish today’s access. A completed 2020 Pocheon Boss Apple Farm visit found public transport awkward and the program aimed largely at children. A completed Bonghwa orchard stay booked months ahead and combined lodging with picking. These accounts show why reservation, transport and audience fit matter more than a generic farm name.

For an independent day activity, reserve 60 minutes for the final rural transfer each way, 30 minutes for check-in and instructions, 90 minutes for picking, and 30 minutes to pack and clean up: 4 hours before the intercity journey. The current Goesan example is explicitly overnight, so this day-trip calculation does not apply to it.

Food safety and the trip home

Wear closed shoes and clothes that can get muddy. Follow the farm’s instructions on ladders, tools and which rows may be entered. Keep picked fruit shaded and do not wash it until the operator’s storage guidance says to. For gifts, buy by the operator’s packed weight and condition; an illustrative basket is not a price or grade promise.
